The urban park named Falls Road Local Park (locally known as Hadley’s Park) is a 20-acre public facility that was acquired by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in 1986. It features an award-winning playground designed for special needs children. This unique playground was the brainchild of Shelley Kramm, who was frustrated by other playgrounds that were unsuitable for her daughter Hadley’s wheelchair. Kramm formed Hadley’s Park Incorporation, a non-profit organization, to fund the project.
